Copper Bonded Rods are low carbon high tensile steel rods with the minimum copper coating of 250 microns as per UL 467. The copper is molecularly bonded over the steel with the help of electroplating process which is making it a theft proof material. Copper Bonded Rods are recommended by IS 3043: 2018, IEEE 80 and NBC 2016 for the earthing purpose. Research

The complete real-time research conducted by National Electrical Grounding Research Project with collaboration of National Fire Protection Association. The purpose of research to check the tendency of copper bonded rods in comparison with galvanized rods. They placed both the rods in different types of soil in 1993 and taken away those rods in 2003. The outcome of rods is crystal clear, they found  galvanized rod fully languish along with heavy corrosion while copper bonded rods maintains its same glance. Thus, conclude the life of copper bonded rods are more than 40 years and the accountability  to examine the copper bonded rod construction is in hands of UL (Underwriters Laboratories).
