Cable ducting protects electrical cables from damage, offering durability, easy installation, and long-term reliability.

Being electrical installers, we understand the need for the protection of electric cables both inside and outside your building. Well, maintenance of electric cables and electric devices is the challenge most ranked requirement in the electric industry. Do you have any idea how cables would sustain in detrimental conditions? Submerged by information? This article shall give you the complete information on the effect of external factors on unshielded electric cables and electric devices, and what can be done for their safety.

It is extremely important that the cable sustain detrimental conditions and a harsh outdoor environment so that the connected devices/ services continue to function. Damaged cable due to mechanical effects, extreme temperature dissipation, getting wet, moisture intrusion, etc. can be a huge threat to human life and property. Power, signaling, and telecom sectors have different types of cables which is the basic link that is responsible for carrying power and data effectively. Hence, they should be protected so that continued supply through the cable is ensured till its prescribed life.

The complete cycle life and durability of cable can be related to cable carriers, insulations, and protection technologies used. They must be able to handle the high voltage flow and extreme environmental conditions which are the common reasons for cable damage and electric hazards. So, the bottom line is that protection should be provided which are reliable and strong enough for the toughest environment.

Generally, how can you effectively protect cable?

Mostly in the working environments, you would require cables to run across paths of pedestrians and vehicles and it goes unnoticed. While planning on the pathways and cabling, you must work on all the risk factors to prevent electric hazards and accidents.

In this increasingly complex electrically connected world, cable ducting has become a common practice and does not sound new but injection-molded cable ducts may not be familiar to at least a few. JMV LPS Limited is up with an alternative to RCC ducts which is plastic cable ducts for underground, aboveground, and ground-level cable carrying. Every industry would need such custom-designed plastic boxes which is the standard recommended type of ducting ensuring the safety of both cables and the kind of supply it carries.

What are the reasons for the development of cable ducts?

1. They add more protection than traditional duct material ruling out the main threats – moisture infiltration, infestation, environmental effects, extreme load conditions, etc.

2. This cable management solution is not heavy and ducts can be easily transported to large distances.

3. This is a continuous support system with the primary purpose of shielding cables from infestations and external harsh environments.

4. Using polyolefin cable channel/injection-molded cable duct can effectively hold any number, size, or type of cable.

5. They are innovative protection solutions made of chemically inert material.

6. You can easily keep cables elevated and properly bundled inside cable ducts as they are maintenance-free solutions capable of handling a large number of compressive loads applied up to 12kN.

7. They are well built for the protection of Power, signaling, and telecom cables and find ideal application for underground, above-ground, and ground-level cable ducting.

8. Relating to its weightless attributes, its installation, fault correction, replacement, transportation, and storage all are very easy.

9. The physical property which distinguishes it from all the traditional solutions is that they have a honeycomb design which makes this product strong, durable, and dimensionally stable to handle extremely heavy loads and offer insulation from external influences.

10. They are the best cable protection technology that enables easy inspection, faster error detection, and troubleshooting while minimizing the risk of human error. You simply need to be sure that it is procured from a reliable and trusted brand so that it can serve the purpose for a lifetime.
